[ARCHIVED] CERTIFIED: Fire Department's Lauren Sanchez achieves Emergency Management Certification

Lauren Sanchez EMC

FBTX ~ Farmers Branch Emergency Management capabilities have been substantially enhanced with new credentials for Emergency Management Specialist Lauren Sanchez.

The Certified Emergency Manager (CEM) credential is a professional certification for emergency managers awarded by the International Association of Emergency Managers. Only 1,375 emergency management leaders have earned the AEM (associate emergency manager) or CEM credential. To do so, each must demonstrate a strong understanding of the emergency management field through knowledge, experience, work history, training, education, and contributions to the profession.

A member of the Farmers Branch Fire Department since May of 2017, Lauren started the application process for the CEM credential in 2018 and passed the test in September.

“Lauren has been an incredibly valuable member of the Emergency Management team ever since she arrived here,” said Farmers Branch Fire Chief Gabriel Vargas. “This certification only increases her level of expertise for the safety and security of everyone in Farmers Branch.”
