FBTX ~ Following an exhaustive national search, Farmers Branch City Manager Charles Cox has named former television news anchor Jeff L. Brady as the incoming Director of Communications.
In January, Brady will replace current Communications Director Tom Bryson, who has served as the City's primary spokesman and media supervisor for the past 22 years.
"I'm honored to join the leadership team at City Hall and eager to help tell the story of such a vibrant, thriving city," said Brady. He will oversee the city's many media platforms including cable, print and digital outlets. He will also coordinate the city's outbound media relations, emergency response communications and chair the City's Internal Communications Committee.
Brady joins Farmers Branch City Hall after a distinguished career of more than 20 years in broadcasting and communications. He served as a primary anchor and reporter at WFAA-TV in Dallas and at KENS-TV in San Antonio. He launched and ran a successful content marketing agency in Irving and served on the faculty of the University of North Texas as an adjunct professor in the Department of Media Arts. He is a long-time Dallas-area resident with a wife and three children. He is also a proud graduate of Texas A&M and a former active-duty Marine who served in the Persian Gulf.
"We are delighted to have hired a communications executive with such a broad background in media," said City Manager Charles Cox. "We know he will bring a marvelous skill-set set to City Hall."
