FBTX ~ The Farmers Branch Parks and Recreation Department had several innovative safety protocols for the two events this past weekend, Music and a Movie and Denton Drive Live!, to help create a safer event environment in the coronavirus pandemic.
Before patrons were permitted inside the Farmers Branch Historical Park, a temperature check was conducted. Masks were required to be worn at all times unless eating or drinking by those ages 10 and up and were available at the entrance for those who may not have one.
Upon entry, all patrons could see outlined circles in the meadow of the Historical Park. There were 189 painted “Social Circles” to help patrons find seating while maintaining a 6-foot distance from each other. The event attendance was limited to 500 patrons.
Additional enhanced safety measures were also taken. Hand sanitizing stations were available throughout the park, and portable restrooms were placed 6 feet apart and were cleaned throughout the event by disinfection team. Signage was placed throughout the event in both English and Spanish to remind people of social distancing best practices and to remind patrons of the mask requirement.
There is an upcoming Music and a Movie on Friday, August 21 featuring the band Tejas Brothers and will show the movie Yesterday. Family Night in the Park will be on August 22 and will feature two bands, Le Freak and Cover Down. The movie will be Trolls World Tour. The same social distancing safety rules will be in place for both events. Visit fbspecialevents.com for more information about all upcoming events. Events are subject to change.
