The Farmers Branch Manske Library is launching a delivery service for library books, DVDs, and audiobooks during this national emergency! While the Library is closed, Farmers Branch residents can place items on hold, and the Library will contact them to see if they would like their items to be delivered to their homes. "While public safety is our highest priority, the Library is committed to continuing to serve our community however we can during this time," says Library Director Denise Wallace.
Farmers Branch residents with a library card can go online and place holds through the Library’s online catalog. After a 72-hour hold to minimize transmission of the virus, masked and gloved Parks & Recreation team members, working in concert with the Library, will deliver up to five books or other materials per card holder in a sealed bag.
Interested in having library materials delivered to you? Here’s what you need to know:
- Delivery is available to Farmers Branch residents only. We encourage cardholders in Carrollton, Addison, Dallas, and other cities to take advantage of our digital resources, but unfortunately we cannot deliver physical materials outside the city of Farmers Branch.
- All holds must be placed through the Library’s online catalog. Once your holds have been placed, expect a call from Library staff in the next 3-4 business days to confirm that you are requesting these items for home delivery. We ask that you limit your requests to five items to ensure that we are able to serve as many residents as possible.
- Delivery personnel will not be able to collect any Library materials you currently have.
