Dallas County order requires use of a face covering, beginning Saturday

Facemask requirement

FBTX ~ In his latest amended order, Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins is making mandatory the use of a face covering by anyone patronizing an essential business or using public transportation.

The new order takes effect at 11:59 p.m. Friday. Some form of covering over the nose and mouth may include a homemade mask, scarf, bandana or handkerchief. Employees who work at an essential business are bound by the same requirement.

The owner/operator of an essential business may refuse admission or service to anyone who fails to wear a face covering. Officials emphasize that wearing a face covering is not a substitute for social distancing and hand washing, as those steps remain critically important to slowing the spread of the coronavirus.
