Community adapting to stay-at-home situation

Donations for FBFD

FBTX ~ Although asked to stay at home for longer than most people have ever considered, the Farmers Branch community is rising to the challenge to be sure everyone is cared for during this time.

Farmers Branch Fire and Police Departments are receiving donations of supplies that will help first responders to perform their duties as safely as possible during these challenging times. Key items that will be a Birthday Boxes for Metrocrestconstant need during this crisis are N95 surgical masks, gloves and surgical gowns. Many are supporting and assisting Metrocrest Services in their mission to serve those in the community that need assistance.

Staff at the Farmers Branch Historical Park assembled birthday boxes from extra supplies from the Girl Scouts Birthday Bash, and donated to Metrocrest Services. Boxes include cake mix, frosting, candles and more goodies in a grab-and-go box to help families in need celebrate a birthday during this time. The Historical Park’s Bonnie Neumann loaded the boxes for transport (above).

The Branch Connection, Manske Library, Community Recreation Center and Aquatics Center are all trying to engage their patrons during this extended closure. A number of videos can be found online at and on these facilities respective Facebook pages.
