City leaders looking for teens to serve on Youth Council

FBTX ~ Mayor Robert Dye and the Farmers Branch City Council are actively searching for high school students in the community to serve on the first Farmers Branch Youth Council.

   The goal of the Youth Council is to create a pathway for young service leaders to advise Council on youth-related issues; assist with special projects and events, research, assess and evaluate existing youth and community programs and more.

   Members of the Youth Council will serve two-year terms, meeting on a monthly basis, typically on the first Thursday of the month from 4:30 until 6 p.m.

   Youth Council students must live in Farmers Branch, attend any area public, charter or private high school or be homeschooled, be an incoming sophomore or junior and must be able to attend 10 out of the 12 monthly meetings.
