Saturday | April 24 | 8 - 11 a.m. Gussie Field Watterworth Park
Fishin’ Fun is an annual fishing tournament that takes place during the spring at the beautiful Rawhide Creek. It’s a free event designed for ages 16 and under and is open to both residents and non-residents. There are trophies and prizes for the top 3 fish in each age category and family-friendly activities at the event!
There will be loaner rods & reels, free bait and over a ton of hungry fish to catch. Tagged fish will win a special prize.
Friday | July 2 | 6 - 10 p.m. | Farmers Branch Historical Park
Celebrate our nation’s independence with your neighbors, family and friends on Friday, July 2, at the Farmers Branch Historical Park! There are lots of free activities for the kiddos including airbrush tattoos, balloon artists, soccer darts, and the Ballistic Swing amusement ride. As if that wasn’t enough, we’ve got the high energy party band Cover Down to get you up and dancing! There will be food and beverages for sale from Nuevo Leon Mex Mex, Bartley’s BBQ, Thomas Corn Dogs & Funnel Cakes, Blackberry Winter Creamery, Tikiz Shaved Ice, and gourmet caramel apples from Taylor’s Sweetshop. Immediately following the band it’s one of the area’s best low-level fireworks show that will definitely leave you feeling patriotic! The family-friendly event will also recognize and celebrate the City of Farmers Branch’s 75th Anniversary. Event hours are from 6:30 – 10:00 p.m., and to keep everyone safe masks are recommended for all attendees. Once again, the Firecracker Fast Pass will be available to all residents and will allow for early entry.
May 8 | 6 - 10 p.m. | NEW Location: The Grove at Mustang Station
On Saturday, May 8, it’s a high-energy dance and party night as the award-winning Denton Drive Live concert series features Just Like Pink – the Pink Experience and Moving Colors – a seven member dance band that’s been entertaining audiences across north Texas for over 15 years! Both of these amazing bands will have you up on your feet and busting out some serious dance moves! The event is free and takes place at The Grove at Mustang Station– lawn chairs and blankets are encouraged. Come thirsty and hungry - there will be food, beer, and wine for sale from Nuevo Leon Mex Mex, and shaved ice from Tikiz. Bring the kiddos, we’ve got soccer darts, a face painter and a balloon artist. The family-friendly evening will run from 6 – 10 p.m., and to keep everyone safe, masks are recommended for those in attendance. May 29 | 5 - 10:30 p.m. | Farmers Branch Historical Park
Kick-off the summer with us on Saturday, May 29, by bringing out the entire family for a free, fun-filled evening at the Farmers Branch Historical Park! It’s Family Night In The Park, and we’ve got lots of free activities for the kiddos including face painters, balloon artists, soccer darts, and the Ballistic Swing amusement ride. As if that wasn’t enough, we’ve got two great party bands to get you up and dancing, including Le Freak – The World’s Greatest Disco Band! There will be food and beverages for sale from Nuevo Leon Mex Mex, and gourmet caramel apples from Taylor’s Sweetshop. Immediately following the bands is the animated, hit movie Sing featuring the voices of Matthew McConaughey, Reese Witherspoon, Seth McFarlane and Scarlett Johansson - In a city of humanoid animals, a hustling theater impresario's attempt to save his theater with a singing competition becomes grander than he anticipates even as its finalists find that their lives will never be the same! The family-friendly event will run from 5 – 10:30 p.m., and the first 50 kids receive one free shaved ice from TIKIZ (age 12 and under). To keep everyone safe, face coverings are recommended for those in attendance.
Oct 15 & 16 | 4:30 - 10 p.m. & 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. | Farmers Branch Historical Park
Experience one of the top bluegrass events right here in Farmers Branch! The Farmers Branch Historical Park, a picturesque museum in a park experience, allows you to walk through Texas history while being able to listen to bluegrass music! Not only will you hear music from some of the hottest bands in bluegrass, but you’ll also get to witness the unique experience of jam sessions throughout the Park. The jam sessions are event patrons showcasing their musical talent at various spots throughout the Park. The main stage and Grassroots stage add to the unique experience by featuring the best in national and local musicians in traditional and progressive Bluegrass along with offerings of Americana and country sounds.
At The Branch Connection, we annually celebrate our veterans at our Veterans Day Celebration! We honor them with a patriotic ceremony, a performance from the World War II Museum's Victory Belles, and an All-American lunch.
Annual Tree Lighting & Holiday Marketplace at The Grove
Mark your holiday calendars now for exciting events happening in “the Branch” in 2021. The outdoor ice rink, Skating Under the Stars, will be open from November 26 - January 9, and this year’s annual Tree Lighting event is scheduled for Saturday, December 4. The Holiday Markets at The Grove, another new Christmas tradition, return in 2021 and are scheduled for December 11 and December 18. More details coming soon.
