Farmers Branch Parks & Recreation has premier events throughout the year that vary in caliber. From our Independence Day Celebration to trick or treating at Halloween in the Park to fireworks at Independence Day Celebration, our events are designed to create a memorable experience for you and your loved ones.

We take the safety and well-being of the general public and our staff with great importance. To help prevent the spread of the coronavirus and in accordance with other Dallas County jurisdictions, we have temporarily closed many of our facilities. To maintain our commitment to preventing the spread of the virus, we will also be canceling all May events.

Fishin Fun Event Logo

Fishin’ Fun is an annual fishing tournament that takes place during the spring at the beautiful Rawhide Creek. It’s a free event designed for ages 16 and under and is open to both residents and non-residents. There are trophies and prizes awarded and family friendly activities at the event!

Denton Drive Live! Event Logo

Denton Drive Live is a new free concert series that will occur on the second Saturday of every month between April and September.

Family Night in the Park Event Logo

August 22 | 5:30 p.m. | Farmers Branch Historical Park

The new and improved Date Night in the Park becomes Family Night in the Park! Bring your family, a group of friends, or fly solo as you enjoy live music, dinner, and a movie under the stars! Choose from your choice of DFW’s most popular concessions, while listening to tunes and then stick around for the movie!


Independence Day Event Logo

Thursday | July 2 | 6:30 - 10 p.m. | Farmers Branch Historical Park

Our Independence Day Celebration is a firework spectacular unlike any other! We are one of the few celebrations in the area that offer a low-level firework show! You can also experience a high energy dance band on stage, a free KidZone area, and concessionaires selling festival favorites.

Bloomin Bluegrass Event Logo

October 16 & 17 | Farmers Branch Historical Park

Experience one of the top bluegrass events right here in Farmers Branch! The Farmers Branch Historical Park, a picturesque museum in a park experience, allows you to walk through Texas history while being able to listen bluegrass music! Not only will you hear music from some of the hottest bands in bluegrass, but you’ll also get to witness the unique experience of jam sessions throughout the Park. The jam sessions are event patrons showcasing their musical talent at various spots throughout the Park. The main stage and Grassroots stage add to the unique experience by featuring the best in national and local musicians in traditional and progressive Bluegrass along with offerings of Americana and country sounds.

Celebration of Roses Event Logo

October 17 | 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. | Rose Gardens of Farmers Branch

Putting the bloom in the Bloomin’ Bluegrass Festival is our annual Celebration of Roses! Enjoy a day filled with bluegrass music performances and rose related activities in the setting of our alluring rose gardens.

Craft Fair Event Logo

Adding to the fun things to do during the Bloomin’ Bluegrass Festival weekend is our annual Craft Fair. The Craft Fair features over 100 different local crafters! Whether you’re looking for a unique piece to add to your home or a memorable gift, we have something for you!

Halloween in the Park Event Logo

October 24 | 5 - 10 p.m. | Farmers Branch Historical Park

Farmers Branch’s annual Halloween event filled with exciting activities like carnival games to help support local charities, a bounce house, and different keepsake items. Oh and of course, CANDY! 

We have our Boo-ville area providing fun entertainment for those under 5 years of age, but our Haunted Hedge, designed for ages 9 and up, is an exhilarating spooky thrill for those up for the scare!

Veterans Day Event Logo

At The Branch Connection, we annually celebrate our veterans at our Veterans Day Celebration! We honor them with a patriotic ceremony, a performance from the Victory Belles, and an All-American hot dog lunch. 

This event is free and open to the public. We encourage arriving early as this event has grown stronger in the community.

Christmas in the Branch is the annual, over one month long Christmas celebration for Farmers Branch! Enjoy Skating Under the Stars at our outdoor ice skating rink. Stroll under twinkling lights in Santa’s Village at our Christmas Tree Lighting. Shop local vendors for unique gifts at our Holiday Marketplace at The Grove.

Our Farmers Branch Community Recreation Center and Historical Park add to the Farmers Branch Christmas experience by hosting Christmas festivities at their facilities throughout the season!
