Farmers Branch Parks & Recreation has premier events throughout the year that vary in caliber. From our Independence Day Celebration to trick or treating at Halloween in the Park to fireworks at Independence Day Celebration, our events are designed to create a memorable experience for you and your loved ones.

Fishin Fun Event Logo

Fishin’ Fun is an annual fishing tournament that takes place during the spring at the beautiful Rawhide Creek. It’s a free event designed for ages 16 and under and is open to both residents and non-residents. There are trophies and prizes awarded and family friendly activities at the event!

Independence Day Event Logo

FBTX ~ Due to significant concerns about the spread of COVID-19 as well as prohibitions on gatherings of greater than 100 people, the City of Farmers Branch has joined other area cities in making the decision to cancel our July 2 Independence Day fireworks show.


Denton Drive Live! Event Logo

April - September | 2nd Sat of month | 5 - 9 p.m. 

Denton Drive Live is a new free concert series that will occur on the second Saturday of every month between April and September.

Masks will be required while attending the event for ages 10 and up and are to be worn at all times (except within your social circle).

The new and improved Date Night in the Park becomes Family Night in the Park! Bring your family, friends, or fly solo and enjoy music, a movie, and take advantage of concessions from some of the best in the DFW.

October 16 & 17 | Farmers Branch Historical Park

Experience one of the top bluegrass events right here in Farmers Branch! The Farmers Branch Historical Park, a picturesque museum in a park experience, allows you to walk through Texas history while being able to listen bluegrass music! Not only will you hear music from some of the hottest bands in bluegrass, but you’ll also get to witness the unique experience of jam sessions throughout the Park. The jam sessions are event patrons showcasing their musical talent at various spots throughout the Park. The main stage and Grassroots stage add to the unique experience by featuring the best in national and local musicians in traditional and progressive Bluegrass along with offerings of Americana and country sounds.

Craft Fair Event Logo

Adding to the fun things to do during the Bloomin’ Bluegrass Festival weekend is our annual Craft Fair. The Craft Fair features over 100 different local crafters! Whether you’re looking for a unique piece to add to your home or a memorable gift, we have something for you!

Halloween in Farmers Branch has taken a new form: Halloween in the Branch! With one virtual and two in-person events, Halloween this year is a nearly month-long celebration! Starting with The Splashtacular Virtual Pumpkin Decorating Contest and continuing to events like the 80s Monster Mash Jam and the Tour of Frights. Annual events such as Haunts and Houses and Halloween in the Park have been reimagined into a new event, Tour of Frights. There's a way to celebrate Halloween for all ages!

80s Monster Mash Jam Square Graphic

Fri | Oct 30 | 7 - 10:30 p.m. | Farmers Branch Historical Park

Break out your hairspray and acid-washed jeans, it’s an “80s Monster Mash Jam” spotlighting some of the biggest acts from that defining decade of music- Prince and Bon Jovi!

Two of the hottest tribute bands in all of Texas, Remembering Prince, and Blaze of Glory- The Bon Jovi Tribute, will get your Halloween weekend started off with a rockin' and funk-filled night to remember!

Veterans Day Event Logo

November 11 | 10:30 a.m. to Noon | The Branch Connection: 14055 Dennis Ln

At The Branch Connection, we annually celebrate our veterans at our Veterans Day Celebration! We honor them with a patriotic ceremony, a performance from the Victory Belles, and an All-American celebration. 

This event is free and open to the public. We encourage arriving early as this event has grown stronger in the community.

Holiday Marketplace at The Grove
December 12, 19 | 5 - 9 p.m. | The Grove

Christmas in the Branch is the annual, over one month long Christmas celebration for Farmers Branch! Enjoy Skating Under the Stars at our outdoor ice skating rink. Stroll under twinkling lights in Santa’s Village at our Christmas Tree Lighting. Shop local vendors for unique gifts at our Holiday Marketplace at The Grove.
