Fostering Program

Fostering saves lives!

Hi friends!  Many of you have approached us about volunteer opportunities. Because we are still in such a precarious state due to COVID, it may be awhile before we can allow guests back in the building. In the meantime, we do have an opportunity to help animals in need right now.Feral Kittens

We are excited to announce we are opening up the fostering program to Farmers Branch residents and members of the surrounding communities. Currently we have very specific needs in housing under-socialized kittens to help them acclimate for human handling/adoption, as well as housing underweight and orphaned kittens until they reach the appropriate weight for sterilization surgery and then move forward to adoption.

Farmers Branch Animal Services will provide food and supplies, basic medical care, access to a private foster Facebook group for discussion and online camaraderie, and resources for socializing and husbandry. All our volunteers need to do is provide the love!

We have all types of kittens, from easy “entry-level-foster” type to more advanced “salty ferals” who will need a more experienced handler. Volunteers will need to fill out a foster care application and sign a contract, both of which can be done via PDF.

If this is something that interests you, please email Animal Services at animalservices@farmersbranchtx.gov to get started on the path to fostering.
