Bring the family to the Historical Park and learn about the birds of the night.  The Blackland Prairie Raptor Center will be on hand with live owls for a show and tell.  Weather permitting, the event will conclude with a prowl for owls led by Master Naturalist, Steve Romaine.

SHE-ROES:  Celebrating Women

$15 per person (Kindergarten - 12th grade) and includes Juliette Low patch. Adults and children 4 and under free. Space is limited and pre-registration is required.

In the spirit of the 100th Anniversary of women's suffrage, join us at the Historical Park as we celebrate our SHE-ROES!  Enjoy fun activities and crafts as you earn your patch to commemorate a Girl Scout hero and founder that made history.  Bring a pair of new or gently used shoes to donate to Soles4Souls and become your own SHE-ROE!  Girls can also earn the Girl Scout voting patch on their own after completing all stations at this event.

Haunts & Houses:  Trick or Treating at the Historical Park

Bring your young and school-aged children to trick or treat and experience the Manske Library’s “Boo-Ville” area during this come and go event.  Wear a costume and come to trick or treat at the log cabins, School House, Caboose, Queen Anne Victorian Cottage, and more! Characters will be on hand to distribute candy on a first-come, first-served basis, and to pose for pictures with your little ones.

Day of the Dead Celebration

Join us for an intimate celebration of the Day of the Dead also known as Dia de los Muertos.  Festivities include dinner and dessert, elotes, a signature cocktail, aguas frescas, cinnamon hot chocolate, traditional décor, music, education about the holiday, and honoring the deceased.  The festivities will also include a stroll throughout the Park with altars in several structures as you "encounter" historic spirits.

Come explore acrylics and paint a Sugar Skull inspired by the amazing artist, Frida Kahlo. You will learn various painting techniques, how to mix colors and explore textures to create your own masterpiece! Artists will take home an 11" x 14" masterpiece on canvas.  BYOB limited to one bottle of wine or two beers per person. Ages 21 and up only, must bring ID.

Looking for a way to treat mom? Join us for the third annual Mums & Sons: Passport to Adventure, Planes, Trains and Automobiles! Spend the afternoon enjoying outdoor activities such as learning Morse Code from the train conductor, taking a selfie with Big Bertha (the Park’s 1936 Ford Truck), gathering stamps for your passport, and flying your own plane. A famous historical figure will be making an appearance. Light lunch fare will be served.

The Victorian Fencing Society presents a Grand Assault of Arms
