Day of the Dead Celebration


Friday | November 1 | 6:30 – 8:30 pm


$25 per person; $20 per Friend of the Farmers Branch Historical Park member, call 972.406.0184 for discount; space is limited and pre-registration required.

Join us for an intimate celebration of the Day of the Dead also known as Dia de los Muertos.  Festivities include food, a signature drink, aguas frescas and cinnamon hot chocolate, traditional décor, music, education about the holiday and honoring the deceased.  The festivities will end as you “encounter” historic spirits at the Farmers Branch (Keenan) Cemetery.  Ages 4 and up.

Specialty Yoga in the Park with Rotha - Open Up

You will experience asanas and poses that will help open your hips and spine as well as your mind and heart. Class will be held indoors in case of inclement weather.

Vintage Base Ball Triple Header


Saturday | November 2 | 9:30 am – 2 pm (come & go)

It’s time for Vintage Base Ball! The Farmers Branch Mustangs will play a tournament of 1860s base ball with surrounding vintage base ball teams.  Bring your chair or quilt, enjoy a picnic, and come in 1860s attire if you wish.  Teams will spend the day playing historic base ball from the Civil War era (which means no gloves), a lemon-peel ball, and a lot of enthusiastic huzzahs!

Glow Stick Yoga in the Park with Rotha

Yoga can be more than poses.  Join us for an evening class where you will enjoy a fun yoga experience with glow sticks and fun music.  Class will be held indoors in case of inclement weather.  Ages 16 and up.

Chocolate Workshop with Yeli


Friday | November 8 | 6:30 – 8:30 pm


$35 per person; space is limited and pre-registration is required.  Minimum enrollment is 10.
Ages 16 and up | BYOB for 21 + with ID 

Get your hands on chocolate!  Learn how to make flavor infused ganache, roll truffles, French mendiants, and more.  Students will learn the techniques behind making chocolate confections and will take home all of the chocolate we make in class.  That’s a lot of chocolate!  This class requires standing.   BYOB is limited to one bottle of wine or two beers per person.  Ages 21 and up only, must bring ID.

The Victorian Fencing Society presents a Grand Assault of Arms

A Public Exhibition of Nineteenth Century Fencing Matches, to be contested among the members of the Victorian Fencing Society with various fencing weapons to determine a champion.  Visitors are invited to cheer for their champions, ask questions, and take photos of the events.  Family Friendly.

Celebrate fall in the spirit of Laura Ingalls Wilder and the pioneers!  Sit in on a lesson at the School House, make old-fashioned crafts, participate in tasks essential to daily life in early Farmers Branch, and discover what you’re thankful for.  Brownie Girl Scout badge, My Family Story, is also available for individual scouts and troops.  Meet badge requirements while seeing history through the eyes of a pioneer girl and learning how girls of the past lived, worked, and played.  Family Friendly.
