FF Fiesta

First Friday:  Cinco de Mayo Fiesta!

Mums Sons

Mums and Sons:  Passport to Adventure 

Sunday, May 3 from 1 pm to 3 pm

Fee: $10 per person, space is limited and pre-registration is required.

Looking for a way to treat mom? Join us for the third annual Mums & Sons: Passport to Adventure, Planes, Trains and Automobiles! Spend the afternoon enjoying outdoor activities such as learning Morse Code from the train conductor, taking a selfie with Big Bertha (the Park’s 1936 Ford Truck), gathering stamps for your passport, and flying your own plane. A special guest from the Frontiers of Flight Museum will be making an appearance. Light lunch fare will be served.

Bring your own kite from home to the Farmers Branch Historical Park and enjoy an afternoon soaring in the Park's meadow.  Take-home instructions on how to make your own kite will be provided.


Star Party

Tuesday, May 12 from sunset to 9 pm

FREE; registration is recommended.

Depending on the date, telescopes will be focused on Uranus, Venus, the Moon, Nebulae, Open Star Clusters, Globular Star Clusters and Double Stars.

Victorian Fencing

Family Friendly 

The Victorian Fencing Society will be offering free demonstrations.   Come and watch, learn and practice the late 19th century art of swordplay with foils and sabres.  Gentleman and ladies of all ages are encouraged to come and enjoy.   No experience is necessary.


Lawn Games 

Sunday, May 24 from 12:30 to 5:30 pm (come & go)

Family Friendly 

Stop by the Dodson House south lawn for a friendly game of washers, horse shoes and giant pick up sticks.  Bragging rights will be awarded.   Why not make an afternoon of it and pack a picnic too?


Vintage Base Ball Practice

Want to try your hand at Vintage Base Ball? Join our open practices and learn the rules of 1860s base ball. Practices are held outdoors in our meadow; please wear closed-toed tennis shoes. Participants must sign waiver to play.
