City receives sustainability award for durability and quality building standards

Golden Trowel award

DALLAS ~ The City of Farmers Branch Planning Team was recently the recipient of the Golden Trowel Award for being a Sustainable City that promotes durability and quality building standards.

   Bestowed by the United Masonry Contractors Association on behalf of the Texas Masonry Council, the Award was created in 1989 to recognize and encourage all phases of masonry construction.Golden Trowel recipents

   ´╗┐Present at the banquet to accept on behalf of the City were (pictured beginning second from left) Councilmember Bronson Blackson, Mayor Robert Dye, Councilmember Mike Bomgardner, City Manager Charles Cox, Deputy City Manager John Land, Councilmember Terry Lynne, Planning Director Tina Firgens and Planning Manager Andreea Udrea. Also pictured (far left) is Michelle Queen, Texas Masonry Council DFW representative that nominated Farmers Branch for the award.
