New mixed use project to replace big box at Inwood and Alpha

FBTX ~ After a great deal of negotiation, the Farmers Branch Economic Development Office has announced a new mixed use project for the corner of Alpha and Inwood Roads.

The new project on the 14-acre tract will include retail space, an office complex, a hotel and a four-story apartment building.

This will replace the big box store on the corner, originally opened as The Great Indoors and has been operating more recently as a Sears Outlet.

"This will be one of the largest mixed use developments in Farmers Branch in years," said Economic Development Director Allison Cook. "We are appreciative of everyone that worked so hard to bring it to Farmers Branch."

The hotel is projected to be five stories with 155 rooms while the office building will rise seven stories above the project.

Bridgeview Real Estate, with owner Steve May, purchased the site in 2012 and has worked on several concepts before deciding on the current mixed-use development.
