Aquatics Manager receives national certification

FBTX ~ Farmers Branch Aquatics Manager Rachael Arroyo was recently certified as an Aquatic Facility Operator (AFO) by the National Certification Board and the National Recreation and Park Association.

   To become an AFO-certified operator, individuals must pass a nationally-administered exam which tests knowledge on a variety of aquatics operations and systems, along with maintenance and management practices.

   Ms. Arroyo has a Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology and has been in the Aquatics industry for 14 years working in every facet from lifeguarding to teaching, coordinating programs and daily operations. She has been with the Farmers Branch Aquatics Center since 2014 and was promoted to Manager in 2016. Ms. Arroyo is also a Certified Pool Operator, American Red Cross Lifeguard and Water Safety Instructor.
