FBTX ~ At an upcoming meeting, the Farmers Branch City Council plans to discuss a possible expansion to the City's smoking ordinance which could include the prohibition of smoking:
- In all retail establishments, except for cigar bars and tobacco shops.
- In restaurants and bars, including patio areas.
- In all public buildings, including private offices.
- Within 20 feet of an entrance, exit or ventilation intake and signage requirements.
Business owners are being asked to comment on these proposals by sending email to email@example.com by February 15.
During their January 8 meeting, members of the Farmers Branch City Council amended the definition of “smoking” to include e-cigarettes when it comes to smoking restrictions. The result of the action is that e-cigarettes, or “vaping,” is now included in any area where smoking is restricted.
The Council also passed a prohibition on smoking in all City parks, except in marked, designated areas. Smoking in parked cars is allowed if all windows are closed.
