The Summer Funshine is a recreational day camp for children 6-12. The program meets weekdays from 7:30 a.m.- 6 p.m. at the Farmers Branch Community Recreation Center during summer break. Activities include field trips, swimming, character development, community service, arts and crafts, educational classes, fitness programs, reading time, and much more. Free breakfast and lunch are provided most days through the C-FBISD's Summer Food Service Program. Registration starts in mid-February.
Teen Leadership is a community service and leadership based program for teens ages 13-15. The program meets at the Farmers Branch Community Recreation Center Monday through Friday from 7:30 am to 6 pm during summer break. Activities include a variety of off-site projects such as assisting at the Animal Adoption Center, various volunteering projects at Farmers Branch parks, and volunteering with Summer Funshine Program. Additional fees for Friday field trips may be required. Participants must be in good standing and demonstrate maturity, responsibility, and willingness to assist with hands-on projects. The Farmers Branch Community Recreation Center offers a variety of recreational day camp programs. We have something for everyone including Art, Dance, Gymnastics, Soccer, Teen Police & Fire and Music. Our specialty summer camps are open to children ages 5-18.
